McArthurGlen is proud to announce that it supported this year’s Dîner de la Mode Sidaction – a star-studded, fashion gala event traditionally held every year at the close of Paris Fashion Week to raise money for the fight against AIDS.
The year’s event, on 29 January, was attended by over 600 celebrities and influencers from the worlds of fashion and media, including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Tory Burch, Isabel Marant, Nathalie Rykiel, Inès de la Fressange, Claire Wright Keller (Chloé), Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (Kenzo), together with Catherine Deneuve, Caroline de Maigret, Lauren Santo Domingo, Erica Pelosini, Alexandra Golovanoff and Dita Von Teese.
Now in its 13th year, Le Dîner de la Mode is organised by AIDS charity Sidaction together with the French Fashion Federation. Sidaction was created 21 years ago by Pierre Bergé, co-founder of Yves Saint Laurent Couture House, together with French singer Line Renaud, respectively President and Vice-President of the charity.
This year’s event raised €690,000 for the fight against AIDS. It was held in the Belle Epoque-style Pavillon d’Armenonvile, a former hunting lodge, in the Bois de Boulogne.
McArthurGlen’s support for Le Dîner de la Mode Sidaction is part of a range of charity initiatives adopted by Europe’s leader in designer outlet retailing. Other recent initiatives include:
- Sponsorship of the 2014 Cash & Rocket Tour, a cross-Europe road trip undertaken by 70 inspirational women from the worlds of fashion, film and music to raise funds for non-government organisations in Africa.
- A partnership with Vogue Italia and the IEO (European Institute of Oncology) to open Vintage Project pop-up stores at McArthurGlen’s Serravalle Designer Outlet near Milan and at Barberino near Florence. All proceeds raised go to IEO, an international institute at the forefront of the prevention and diagnosis of oncological disease. Proceeds will help fund new ground-breaking technology set to transform the diagnosis period.
- A partnership with iconic London-based fashion brand Peter Pilotto to create three exclusive, Christmas gift wrap designs. All sales’ proceeds were donated to children’s charities local to McArthurGlen’s six UK centres.
- A Christmas campaign, sending a special message of solidarity and hope, at McArthurGlen’s five Italian Designer Outlets to raise funds for UNHCR, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
