When the international style set descend upon the fashion capital, it’s inevitable that the pavements become the runway. And, how better to master the new season trends than with a master class from those that wear it best? Here’s every trend you need to rule the new season.
Animal Instinct
There’s no mistaking it; the street set went wild for animal print at Fashion Week. Whether leopard print, zebra stripes or snake patterns, the key to this trend is confidence. Don’t be afraid to wear the trend from head-to-toe, pair clashing spots and stripes of all sizes; after all, rules are meant to be broken.
On the runway we saw suiting at Tom Ford, splashes of colour and print on print at Roberto Cavalli; the king of the jungle himself.
Neon Lights
Autumn’s colour palette is anything but dull. As seen on the streets and catwalks alike (see Berluti and Prabal Gurung), pick a statement shade and wear it from head-to-toe for maximum impact.
For a look that works day and night, pair clashing colours like red and pink or jewel tones like purple and emerald. Or add a pop of neon to neutrals for a nonchalantly cool twist. However you choose to take on the trend. there’s no doubt it’s time to spin the colour wheel!
Modern Heritage
This season, fashion week seen a fresh update to heritage tweed and traditional plaid. Think sleek tailoring, sharp shoulders, and an ever-equestrian palette of rich tan, charcoal grey with the added addition of berry reds.
The new era of female empowerment sees the masculine suit reinterpreted with emphasis on broad
shoulders and slim waists. Sartorial cloths such as tweed, wool gabardine and soft twill accentuate
sharp cuts. Simple cuts are key to integral pieces such as the pencil skirt.
