McArthurGlen
Cookies Notice
Indroduction
A cookie ("Cookie") is a small file containing letters and numbers which is downloaded onto your device when you visit our Website or use our Apps. When we refer to "Cookies" in this notice, this includes cookies and similar technologies.
This Cookies Notice provides information about how and why McArthurGlen UK Limited and other Group Companies (together, "McArthurGlen", "we", "us" or "our") use personal data shared with us via our Website and Apps and through the use of Cookies for the purposes of our business as permitted by applicable law, including to facilitate and enhance your experience when you visit our Website or use our Apps. In some instances we act as "joint controllers", which means that we jointly determine how and why we process your personal data. Further details can be found in our privacy notice, available here.
In this Cookies Notice, “Group Company” means McArthurGlen UK Limited, McArthurGlen UK Limited's parent company or any direct or indirect subsidiaries of the parent company (and 'Group Companies' is interpreted accordingly). Our Group Companies include the subsidiary management companies operating in each of our locations. The Group Companies' names and locations can be found in a list at the end of this Cookie Notice. We may change this list from time to time.
Please familiarise yourself with the below information and the information in our Cookies Preference Centre before giving your consent to our use of Cookies.
Please note that the information set out in this Cookies Notice is provided in addition to our Privacy Notice available here, which provides comprehensive information about how we use your personal data and your rights with respect to your personal data.
Why do we use Cookies?
We use Cookies for a number of purposes when you visit our Website or use our Apps, for example, to distinguish you from other users, make our Website and Apps work properly, allow us to improve our Websites and marketing (including to customise our marketing campaigns and personalise the advertising that you see), and provide you with a more personalised experience when using our services. More details of our uses of Cookies are set out below and details of individual Cookies are provided in our Cookies Preference Centre HERE.
How do you consent to our use of Cookies?
If you wish to receive Cookies, you can set your consent to allow for the placement of all or specific categories of Cookies in our Cookies Preference Centre HERE.
However, please note that we do not require your consent to set 'strictly necessary' Cookies. Strictly necessary Cookies are always active on our Website and Apps because they are essential for either the transmission of a communication or to provide you with a service that you have requested.
More details on the categories of Cookies we use are set out below.
What types of Cookies do we use?
First and third party Cookies
We use both first party and third party Cookies:
• First party Cookies can only be read by us.
• Third party Cookies are set on our Website or Apps by third party suppliers in order to deliver the services that they are providing.
Session or permanent Cookies
First party and third party Cookies are either session or permanent:
• Session Cookies are only stored on your device temporarily during a browsing session and will be deleted from your device when the browser is closed.
• Persistent Cookies will be stored on your device for a fixed period (usually one year or longer). They will not be deleted when the browser is closed. We use persistent Cookies to recognise your device for more than one browsing session.
Categories of Cookies
The Cookies we use fall into five categories as set out below. More details about individual Cookies can be found in our Cookies Preference Centre HERE.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These Cookies are necessary for our Website and Apps to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. Please see our Cookies Preference Centre HERE for a list of the Strictly Necessary Cookies we use.
Targeting and Advertising Cookies
If you give your consent, these Cookies may be set through our Website or Apps by us or our advertising partners to send you personalised and non-personalised advertising. They may be used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other websites. If you do not allow these Cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising. Please see our Cookies Preference Centre HERE for a list of the Targeting and Advertising Cookies we use.
Social Media Cookies
If you give your consent, these Cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to our Website and Apps to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other websites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these Cookies, you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools. Please see our Cookies Preference Centre HERE for a list of the Social Media Cookies we use.
Performance Cookies
If you give your consent, these Cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Website and Apps. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around our Website and Apps. All information these Cookies collect is aggregated. If you do not allow these Cookies, we will not know when you have visited our Website or Apps, and will not be able to monitor their performance. Please see our Cookies Preference Centre HERE for a list of the Performance Cookies we use.
Functional Cookies
If you give your consent, these Cookies enable our Website and Apps to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these Cookies, some or all of these services may not function properly. Please see our Cookies Preference Centre HERE for a list of the Functional Cookies we use.
Email tracking pixels
An email tracking pixel is a 1px-by-1px square image created by a line of code that is inserted into an email message. Our emails contain a single, unique tracking pixel to tell us if the email has been opened and to verify any click-throughs to links on our Website or Apps within the email.
We use email tracking pixels to determine which of our emails are of interest to our customers, to find out which customers wish to continue to receive emails, and to understand what information customers access via the links in our emails. The pixel will be deleted when you delete our email.
How can I manage the use of Cookies?
You can manage the activation and deactivation of the use of Cookies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the Website or Apps (as applicable) at any time in our Cookies Preference Centre, which is available on our Website and Apps.
You can also reject Cookies or set your Cookies preferences by altering your browser settings. The procedure for doing so via your browser settings varies from one browser application to another. Please consult the 'Help', 'Options' or 'Preferences' section of your browser for more information.
If you choose to disable Cookies, you should be aware that some content or functionality of our Website or Apps may not be available to you.
If you consent to the placement of Google Cookies (as set out in our Cookies Preference Centre), we will set Google's behavioural modelling cookies, which apply machine learning to model your behaviour based on the behaviour of similar users who accept analytics Cookies. This enables us to gain insight into our customers' interests and behaviours to enable us to improve and grow our business. More details about Google Cookies can be found here.

From time to time, we may need to make changes to this Cookies Notice, for example, as the result of changes to the Cookies we use or because of changes to the law, technologies, or due to other developments. Any changes to our Cookies Notice will be posted to this page and to our Cookies Preference Centre.
