Europe’s largest vintage collection arrives in Swindon and York

Europe’s largest and most renowned archive of vintage fashion, A.N.G.E.L.O., will tour the UK for the first time this spring as part of a McArthurGlen Vintage Festival.

The Festival will welcome exclusive pop-up stores at two of McArthurGlen UK Designer Outlets ­- Swindon and York. And it will see the unveiling at the two centres of the Timeless Style exhibition, curated by A.N.G.E.L.O. and celebrating fashion and style through the ages.

Vintage clothing and accessories featured in the pop-up stores and the Timeless Style exhibition will be sourced from  A.N.G.E.L.O.’s collection of 180,000 pieces, housed in A.N.G.E.L.O.’s Vintage Palace in Italy.

McArthurGlen’s Vintage Festival will be open at Swindon Designer Outlet from 30 April till 17 May with the tour then continuing to York Designer Outlet from 21 May till 7 June.

This follows a very successful, third tour of McArthurGlen’s five Italian centres last summer.

Angelo Caroli – 'King of Vintage' and founder of A.N.G.E.L.O. – will personally launch his wondrous emporiums in the UK with special VIP weekend events on 2-3 May at Swindon and 23-24 May at York.

In the pop-up store, vintage lovers will be able to unearth stunning pieces from the likes of Chanel, Hèrmes, Dior, Versace, Céline, with a complimentary limited-edition vintage A.N.G.E.L.O. scarf with purchases.

The aptly named Timeless Style exhibition will celebrate fashions to have left an enduring mark in the history books of the 20th century. Shoppers will discover hand-picked treasures from the 40s and 90s, as well as the exhibition carrying a rare edit of striking designs worn by celebrity idols, including 60s’ pin-up Jane ‘Barbarella’ Fonda, American bombshell Marilyn Monroe and the original bespoke, hand-made Hermès bag inspired and created for Jane Birkin.
