McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Paris-Giverny will drive long-term benefits for the local community and economy with more than €200 million invested in the project. We will continue to work in partnership with the SNA (Seine Normandie Agglomeration), the department of Eure, the city of Vernon and the town of Douains, who are long-standing supporters of this landmark development.
Together with our brand partners, McArthurGlen will create 700 high quality jobs for the local community in retail, catering and property services, supported by training in customer service, language and business skills. A training academy will be developed in partnership with the Region of Normandie, the Department and the Prefecture of Eure, Pôle Emploi and local employment agencies to support local people with gaining the skills needed for future job opportunities and staying informed on the recruitment process.
McArthurGlen has partnered with French architects Arte Charpentier to create a highly contemporary and sustainable design, built to the highest environmental green building specifications, and an ‘Excellent’ HQE (High Environmental Quality) certificate. Striking living walls will be complemented by nearly 20,000m² of green roofing, as well as free electric vehicle charging points.
The centre’s artisan village, Maison des Métiers d'Art, is being developed in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (The CCI) and the Chamber of Crafts and Artisanship of the Eure (The CMA). Through preserving and marketing local artisanship, the dedicated space will nurture local culture, produce and gastronomy, creating a retail destination for the whole community.
