Refill, Recycle & Reduce Waste
Reducing waste has always been at the heart of L’OCCITANE.
Together, we can work towards a more sustainable future.
Since 1976, founder Olivier Baussan sold his products at markets around Provence and encouraged his customers to bring back the glass bottles to be used again; or recycle them at a local glass factory in Nice.
In 2023, L’OCCITANE continues this spirit by offering a range of refill products for their customers. Their Eco-Refill’s have saved around 200 tonnes of plastic each year since they launched them in 2008. On average, 85% of plastic is saved with their Eco-Refills compared to the original product.
Recently, they have launched three of their best-selling Eco-Refills, including Almond Shower Oil, Shea Verbena Liquid Soap and Lavender Liquid Soap, in 100% recycled and recyclable bottles. One of their reducing waste commitments is to ensure 100% of their plastic packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable, by 2025.
It doesn’t just stop at Refills - did you know that they offer an in-store recycling programme? You can recycle your empties from any beauty brand with L’OCCITANE.
Thanks to your contribution to their recycling programme, they can continue repurposing beauty empties into new products like soap trays, furniture, playground surface covers and more!
As a bonus, they’ll give you 10% off your basket - just to say thank you.
Their recent certification as a B Corp™ company recognises their commitment to people and the planet. The B in B Corp™ stands for ‘beneficial’ for customers, stakeholders and employers, suppliers and sub-suppliers, nature and the environment.
