BEE AND BEHIVES

In the part of the Oasis near Via Pontina, where access is limited, there are colonies of western honey bees. Each of the circa 50,000 bees which make up a single beehive contributes to the vitality of the colony, covering different roles throughout its life. The result is a large single organism with the queen bee at its centre. Thanks to the tireless work of bees, which are essential to our ecosystem, we soon will be able to enjoy honey from the Oasis. Each hive produces 10 to 20 kg (22 to 44 lbs) of honey each year. Starting from July it will be possible to purchase the honey produced by the bees of the oasis at the Guest Services of Castel Romano Designer Outlet.
