After finding unique pieces in Designer Outlet Neumünster, head to the “Freilichtmuseum Molfsee” (open-air museum) for a special excursion into the cultural history of Schleswig-Holstein. On a spacious area between small woods and meadows a variety of historic buildings has been reconstructed. The farmhouses with gardens and windmills from centuries ago are based on buildings coming from different regions of the state.

The modern exhibition and entrance building, the "Jahr100Haus", impresses with its steel architecture, which is reminiscent of thatched roofs. Inside there is an exhibition of everyday objects which can be viewed before the open-air site invites visitors to take a walk of discovery. Along the way, while walking next to barns, workshops and residential buildings or admire their rooms from the inside, you can learn a lot about the working life in rural Schleswig-Holstein in past centuries. The open-air museum also regularly hosts markets and other events.
