The world’s coolest female-only car tour, Cash & Rocket, started in London on 14 May with McArthurGlen as the tour partner for the second-year running.
At the wheel of McArthurGlen’s Team No. 17 is Mollie King (right) of platinum girl group The Saturdays, together with co-drivers Patricia Bright, the British Fashion & beauty commentator, and Ella Catliff, the name behind acclaimed fashion blog La Petite Anglaise.
As part of the London-to-Cannes tour, 70 of the world’s most socially engaged and influential women will pull in their 35 red sports cars on 18 May for lunch and a spot of shopping at Europe’s largest luxury designer outlet, McArthurGlen’s Serravalle Designer Outlet in the Gavi hills near Milan.
The ‘fund-racing’ initiative is winding its way through some of the most historic and picturesque cities in Europe to raise funds for three key African charities, Orphan Aid Africa, Sumbandila and Shine on Sierra Leone.
Other stars taking part in this year’s Cash & Rocket Tour include Valentino’s Co-Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, model and actress Selita Ebanks, Hollywood actress Michelle Rodriguez, and many others, including the likes of Jodie Kidd, Chloe Green, Ashley Graham, Natalie Imbruglia, Arizona Muse, and mother and daughter team Jo and Leah Wood.
Shaeren McKenzie, Group Marketing Director, McArthurGlen, says: “We’re very proud to be sponsoring Cash & Rocket’s fund-raising tour. Cash & Rocket is about ‘making a difference’. That is also what we look to do at McArthurGlen in the 20 communities where we operate: we look to create communities of the future through the initiatives that we support and the partnerships we form.”
Following the ‘pit stop’ on 18 May at McArthurGlen’s Serravalle Designer Outlet, home to nearly 200 of the world’s best-loved luxury and premium brands, the tour will then wind its way back down across the border with France to arrive on 19 May for a finishing flourish at the world’s most star-studded event, the Cannes Film Festival, for a photo-call on La Croissette.
