Roermond for families

No outing without a fashionable outfit. For you and your children. At Designer Outlet Roermond, you’ll be able to take your pick from a wide range of kids' collections from different designer brands. Once each family member has found a perfect outfit, it's time to go exploring. First stop: lunch at Bagels & Beans in downtown Roermond. Tuck into well-balanced dishes while the youngest members of the family have a whale of a time in the play area.

Next, it’s time to check into luxury holiday park Maasresidence Thorn. A newcomer to the region, and what a marvellous one at that! The park is home to holiday homes and apartments that will sleep up to twenty. The cozy accommodations immediately feel like home. The icing on the cake? Enjoy privacy, peace, and tranquility along with 24/7 access to all hotel facilities. If you are travelling with children, be sure to check out the "Kids Special" houses, which were designed with children in mind. You might want to keep it a surprise, but the kids will get to sleep in wonderful tent beds!

Route Info 2

While the holiday homes are guaranteed to put anyone at ease - quite a few of them are right on the water, with their own jetty -, there are plenty of other activities to give you that special holiday feeling. Go swimming at the beach, try your hand at paddle boarding, go cruising on a private boat, live it up in the bowling alley or indoor pool or let the kids play in the kids club. Enough said.

If you work up an appetite after all those activities, there’s no need to worry. You won’t have to go far! Cook up a delicious meal in your own holiday home or go to Humphrey’s for a real treat. Drink in the waterside vistas and enjoy this slice of tropical paradise - in Limburg! The only downside: you’ll find it hard to pick just one of the wide range of delicious dishes on the menu.

A touch of Brunssum

Maasresidence Thorn is within walking distance of the white town of Thorn. Thorn's streets are known for its white-painted houses, historic buildings and authentic cobblestone streets. Strolling through this wonderful town is an experience in itself, so get lost in the winding alleys and settle down at one of the cozy terraces for a morning coffee. You’ll likely have a first-class view of the tower of the abbey church!

Next, set course for Brunssum, about a half-hour drive from Thorn. You can spend days on end in this green oasis, enjoying tonnes of different activities. There are two in particular that we recommend. Start with a visit to the petting zoo, where little ones will be surprised by alpacas, parrots, pigs, wallabies, goats and even reptiles. And if even more entertainment is what you’re looking for, you’ll find a large playground and educational games for children to enjoy. Fancy a more adventurous day? Head a little further into the schutterspark, where the kids can have a ball in “Het Plateau’s” climbing forest.

Route info 4

Just a five-minute drive from the schutterspark, you’ll find the Barefoot Park. Not only is it your next activity, it’s also the ideal place for a lunch break. The tables here are scattered among the trees, and the menu caters to all ages. You won't be sitting for long, though, because a tantalising barefoot adventure is waiting for you! Take off your shoes and feel the pebbles, wood, sand and water under your feet. The daredevils among you can even brave the extra obstacles. A fun and connecting activity to end your weekend away.
